The last week of this year has been abuzz in terms of activity in the Mumbai Harbour with a lot of boat owners and avid sailors making the most of their free time on the waters.
What took the lime-light was definitely the Sail for Peace week-long programme by Aquasail which saw a wonderful response – and at the same time that shows that the Mumbaikars as always have a deep spirit and open mind, and their thirst to ride the Indian waves is unquenchable.

Volvo Ocean Race ‘08 : RACE DAY @ KOCHI…

The gates opened and they came in the thousands. Some two hours later the queues to get into the race village are still snaking for hundreds of metres down the road.
When the time came for the sailors to be paraded through the crowds and down to the pontoons, it made for one of the most spectacular departure ceremonies this event has ever seen.

Busan ‘08 Women’s Int’l Match-Racing : AYESHA LOBO

The Indian Women’s Team came back heroes from their ISAF Grade 1 competition in Busan, Korea last month where they beat the China and Korea to stand 9th out of 11 international teams in their first international outing.

Tomorrow, the Olympic flame will be extinguished simultaneously at the National Stadium in Beijing and the Qingdao Olympic Sailing Center, officially ending the Games of the XXIX Olympiad and bringing to a conclusion a remarkable journey for the sport of sailing.

According to monacoeye.com, it would be an interesting fact to know which 60+ meter yacht the people loved the most for 2007 – in a very generalized, non-scientific, fun survey.

The results are in… Alfa Nero managed to hold on to an early lead and finished top in the Monacoeye Reader’s Choice Most Liked Yacht of 2007 Poll !!
