Aashim Mongia, being the lead-of-the-pack in the Round Robins chose Mahesh as his opponent for the Semi-Finals. It was a very close call right from the beginning and Mahesh did take the opportunity to stamp his authority as the highest-ranked match-racing sailor in the country by beating Aashim’s team.

3rd day of sailing was all set from the start with the Finals of the ISAF Nations Cup Regional Finals lined-up for the day.

There was a lot of close-quarters sailing…as expected in any match-racing tournament.
Aashim Mongia’s team won the overall standings in the Round Robin winning 10 out of 12 races. In case Farokh Tarapore’s team would have not lost against the Thai team (the big surprise of the tournament)…it would have been a different scenario for Aashim Mongia’s team.
