India’s First All Women’s International Match Racing Team – Korea Here They Come!

The beautiful city Busan, Korea is hosting the Woman’s World Class Match Race 2008 from the 28th of October to 2nd of November. Haeundae Beach is the official race arena. 11 international teams such as Australia, France, USA etc are participating in this competition and India is one of them. Team of six girls headed by Skipper Pallavi Naik are on their way to Korea. This is the 1st time in India’s history that All Girls Match Racing team is participating in an International competition.

Few months back the Bendigo Yacht Club in Australia was left in ashes when a major fire broke down at the main storage shed of the club due to some electrical fault. 20 sail boats, two large rescue craft, together with a smaller inflatable rescue boats used for rescue work on Lake Eppalock and training boats for children were destroyed completely.

Three students from Studio Lynn at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna have designed a conceptual boat factory for the island of Cres in Croatia.
 

Called Factoreef, it has been designed by Julcsi Futo, Bika Rebek and Stefan Ritter, students on the course run by architect Greg Lynn.
The architects describe the project as “a large scale, smoothly undulating roof held by an intricate steel truss structure”.
