Compagnie du Ponant’s – Custom Luxury Yacht No.4 !!

The small French cruise line Compagnie du Ponant has ordered another custom luxury yacht with 132 staterooms, continuing its growth with what will be its sixth ship.

The new vessel, which will cost 100 million euros (about $134 million), will resemble the line’s Le Boreal and L’Austral, launched in May 2010 and April 2011 respectively, and will also comply with voluntary environmental “clean ship” standards. It is expected to launch in June 2013.

Planet Solar Trimaran

Work on building the €10m 30m (98ft) solar-powered trimaran yacht PlanetSolar is progressing well at Knierim Shipyard in Kiel, Germany. The world’s largest vessel of her type is due to start a global circumnavigation in April 2011, with an estimated travelling time of 140 days.
