Tiger Woods is said to be preparing to go into hiding aboard his super-yacht to escape the storm of publicity over his alleged affairs. Staff were spotted readying the vessel, named Privacy, at a marina near his home in Florida in what is believed to be a bid to save his marriage. The £13.5 million, 155ft yacht, which wife Elin Nordegren once described as “a private respite for our family to relax and escape”, was spotted being loaded with supplies throughout yesterday.

The 33-year-old golfer and his wife have been in hiding since a car crash on 27 November unravelled a string of alleged infidelities by the sportsman. Woods’s staff were doing their best to try to guarantee their privacy by covering up the name Privacy on the back of the boat.

In 2004, the couple sued the yacht’s makers for publicising the fact they had bought it. In a sworn court declarations for the case, Ms Nordegren said: “As its name implies, ‘Privacy’ was intended to be a private respite for our family to relax and escape the rigours of my husband’s celebrity.”

It was reported today that Woods may quit golf in an attempt to save hisruined marriage. Elin, 29, who walked out of the couple’s Florida mansion after the number of women linked to her husband reached 11, is said to have responded to his plea by saying: “It’s either golf or me.”

So where in the world is this top-of-the-line boat heading after the seafaring mode of transportation leaves South Florida’s Old Port Cove Marina?
