The worlds largest boat show turns 50 this year and it does that in grand style. The Fort Lauderdale boat show to be held at Fort Lauderdale, Florida the place which is considered the Mecca of yachting all over the world. with more than $3 billion worth of watercraft, engines and electronics on display & more than 250 super-yachts, the Fort Lauderdale boat show is the largest and most attended boat show in the world. The boat show will commence on 29th Oct and will be go on till 2^nd Nov 2009. With economies worldwide stabilizing and stock markets moving up north, dealers and manufacturers are optimistic for the turnout at this event and believe it will provide a big boost for the recovering yachting industry in America.

As Dickie Bannenberg of Bannenberg & Rowell explained, “Nothing matches Fort Lauderdale in scale and the ability to buy a bucket of bait and then a $70 million dollar yacht. The chances are also pretty high that the guy buying both will be dressed in a pair of shorts and a Polo shirt. It demonstrates the sheer scale of the American market and also proves how this show is refreshingly free of the airs and graces that sometimes come with the European shows.”
