With Blue, many predict that India and Bollywood are catching up with the trends of underwater adventure and thrill. The movie sees the actors scuba diving effortlessly in the waters of the Bahamas, Sanjay Dutt afloat a sea bob and a number of beautiful yachts floating around the many scenes of the movie.

Sources reveal, “Sanjay Dutt shot with the underwater scooter (sea bob) and liked it so much that he purchased two of them for himself.” Each seabob is reported to cost around rupees five lakhs. The SeaBob is like a cross between a jet-ski and a bodyboard -hold on tight and leap through the waves, or turn downward and head for the ocean floor with speed, grace and agility. This simple device creates a whole new category of recreational vehicle, and it looks like a blast! Click here for our article on the Sea Bob. Infact Sanjay Dutt had also  rented a 40-foot catamaran with the full crew on board for all his friends’ comfort during the shoot of the movie.

A single peak at the water in the background is enough to determine that the movie has not been shot in India. Infact it has been shot in most parts of Bahamas & Bangkok. Such extensive use of yachts has never been seen before in any Indian Bollywood movie. We feel that such films will spread immense awareness and will encourage Indian’s to take to the yachting industry, be it buying yachts or learning how to sail or even just creating enthusiasts like us.

In fact, since a large part of the film has been shot in the ocean, one cannot also help but admire and appreciate the enormous contribution of the underwater cinematographer [Pete Zuccarini]. Also, the underwater sequences, which feature aquatic life like puffer fish, stingrays and sharks, hold tremendous appeal.

For our over enthusiastic movie goers, Blue Like its many Hollywood counterparts  is an underwater action thriller whose plot revolves around a treasure that lies buried at the bottom of the ocean and the process of discovering it by three friends which is colored by drama and betrayal. The movie seems to be inspired by the 1977 Hollywood release ‘The Deep’.
