The great and the good of the motorboating world gathered at the Waldorf Hilton in London to discover just who had triumphed in the Motor Boat of the Year Awards.

The glittering annual awards celebrate the best of boating, and are open to all new boats on the market today – and not just new launches. Every boat on the shortlist had been tested by a journalist from MBM or its sister title Motor Boat & Yachting prior to November 2008.

So without further ado, here are 2009’s big winners by category:-

Sportscruiser over 45ft – Princess V45

Flybridge under 50ft – Princess 50

Flybridge over 50ft – Fairline Squadron 55

Trawler and Aft Cabin – Beneteau Swift Trawler 52

Steel and Inland – Seamark 780C

Traditional and Retro – Mochi Dolphin 54

Custom Yacht over 70ft – Moonen 94 Alu

And the winner of possibly the biggest and most valued prize on the night – the Outstanding Service Award voted for by you, the boater – was Bray Marine Sales.
