“Sailing is Half my Life” – Anshul Davda

Name : Anshul Davda

Date of Birth/ Age : 4th December, 1995/ 13 years

Stays at Altamount Road, Mumbai and studies in G. D. Somani School, Cuffe Parade – started sailing when he was 9.

1) What does sailing mean to you?
A) Sailing is like half of my life…..the other half goes in studies,sports and other hobbies. sailing has made me independent and stronger…sailing makes me feel free….

2) Which was the best sailing championship you ever took part in? and why was it the best?
A) All the championships were best!, where i learnt more and more, but there was something special about the one i sailed in Pune,Khadakwasla because that was my first championship and it was a great experience for me.

3) How do you manage to give time to sailing and studies?
A) Sailing is like another subject in studies going sailing on the weekend is just like a practical or something but way fun!!.

4) If there one thing you would like to change in the sailing industry in India, what would that be?
A) I would really like to change the people who don’t handle the boats correctly and handle them like it’s some trash.

5) If you ever had to buy a sail boat of your own which one would it be? Why?
A) It would be a Tantaloon or a Hobie Cat.

6) Which is your fav sailing destination in India?
A) Goa!! is the best place for sailing.

7) Where do you see yourself five years down the line?
A) I see myself as a good sailor aiming to be the champ representing India in all class of Boats like maybe 420 with one o my friends from My Opti group or a laser

8. Have you ever thought of Sailing round the world?
A) Yes!! But not when i am so young,but i will defenately do it in a bigger boat when i grow up.
