Ebook For Sailing Around The World!

20 May 2008 No Comment

This is a common something that we find very regularly in among the first time / “newbie’s” who probably haven’t even crossed the sea that surrounds the area. So where to start? What to do first? What should I take along? These would be some of the most common yet the most crucial questions that require professional experienced support.

So how does one go about collecting data?
A simple way is to head to the nearest yacht club and find the most experienced sailor and ask him the general queries. The other ideal option is to go to the yacht club library and find some relevant data which 9 out of 10 times will be outdated.

What happens when we talk to a person is that he/ she may be able to answer only the questions we ask. But what about the other information which even we may miss out?? After all we are just humans.

No need to worry we have found at least one simple solution. I came across this ebook (free) written by Alan Eddy who is the first to sail around the world in a fiberglass sailboat. The book is available online which helps anyone who has the passion to sail around the world.

Below are some categories that have been covered in the sailing e-book–

Freak occurrences and heavy weather
Engine
Sails
Fitting out, provisioning and cooking
Navigation

Click here to read the online free book. I also came across this other yacht ebook which is available online for about $7.00

Do let me know if you have come across any other such ebooks that help amateur sailors get started with the process of sailing internationally.
